Bitter Root Water Forum’s Run for the River 5K is Aug. 11


Race and beers are an unlikely pairing that will help benefit the Bitterroot River.

Higherground Brewery is holding a pint night from 4 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 10, where one dollar of every beer sold will benefit the efforts of the Bitter Root Water Forum to support clean, abundant water in the Bitterroot Valley. Then, on Aug. 11 and 12, the Water Forum will host the Run for the River 5K and the Bitterroot River Clean-Up

The 5K is a family friendly run or walk along a scenic course beginning at 7 p.m. at the River Park in Hamilton on Friday, Aug. 11. The Splish Splash Dash, a free short fun run for youth age 10 and younger, begins at 6:45 p.m. Katie Vennie, program coordinator, said the River 5K and Splish Splash Dash is a fun way for everyone to connect to the Bitterroot River and explore two of Hamilton’s parks.
